A global organisation, with its Head Office based in Basingstoke, is looking to recruit an experienced VAT Manager who will be responsible for managing VAT/Tax compliance in the UK, Ireland and EU.
Key Requirements:
Support the UK and Ireland with indirect tax advice, including VAT & customs related to supply chain and other transactions.
Supporting global businesses with VAT, customs & systems consequences of business development activities.
European VAT returns and related documentation preparation & submission
Proactive VAT cash flow management for Europe
VAT accounting in financial statements and controls oversight
Skills and Experience:
Qualified Chartered Accountant or CTA
Track record in advising UK/Ireland and supply chain indirect tax issues & all aspects of compliance management including systems, processes and controls.
Technically strong in terms of indirect tax and accounting knowledge
Organised, strong attention to detail and focus on compliance & control
Open and communicative – able to interact at all levels, across departments and cross border
Excellent interpersonal & person management skills – ability to achieve results through influence & persuasion
Strong analytical skills – ability to identify system / process weaknesses and pro-actively propose solutions, and to work with business functions to ensure satisfactory delivery.
